My work emphasizes a multi-media approach to interactive, mobilized, and motorized (literally) illusions. Conceptually, I communicate a clear yet obscure perspective, integrating kinetic elements that challenge perception and engagement.
I first entered the art world in my early teens through photography. Since then, I have practiced digital photography, which I love for its fast, high-quality images. Expanding my methodical fluency began upon my entrance to the University of San Diego, where I have found rewarding ways to combine personal passions with academic learning.
Working with my hands in the sculpture studio, I have become familiar with creating using wood, metal, plaster, and plastics. My explorations have led me to construct functional objects, miniature replicas, and statement pieces. In the realm of printmaking, I prioritize creating simple, bold depictions of symbols and themes in my life.
My creative decisions are driven by nature, my passions, and an eagerness to try new things. I am influenced by bold colors, unique styles, and art that evokes excitement inside of me. Specifically, I am drawn to bright primary colors and high-contrast palettes that create a sense of energy and movement. Stylistically, I take inspiration from artists such as Erwin Wurm, whose humorous and interactive sculptures challenge conventional forms, and Tom Sachs, whose DIY, hand-built aesthetics resonate with my approach to materials. Additionally, Pedro Reyes’ large-scale interactive sculptures inspire my own explorations into participation and movement in art. These influences shape my perspective and inform the way I develop my projects.
In my artistic process, I begin by conceptualizing an inspiration before drafting it, allowing me to identify potential problems before starting a project. My next step is creating a basic, comprehensible version of my vision incorporating its main elements. From here, I move to a final product design.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I found community in spaces where I could practice athletics and photography alike. This connection to outdoor sports has influenced my creative direction, inspiring me to integrate interaction into my work. My pieces result from labor-intensive processes and deep personal investment, which I hope viewers can recognize and appreciate. Each piece is intentionally abstract and complex, designed to evoke a unique response.
My work follows a more prominent theme of connecting multi-disciplinary skills to my passions and nature. It is representative of my spirit and labor. I hope it inspires and confuses you. Confusion is an intentional element in my work, serving to disrupt expectations and provoke thought. By unexpectedly challenging viewers to engage with movement, material, and illusion, I invite them to question their perceptions and assumptions. This engagement is what makes my work dynamic and memorable.

Thanks for stopping by my portfolio. Let’s connect and collaborate – whether for a creative project, photography assignment, or a shared love for the outdoors.
