 Design Brief:
Create a print inspired by a poem, story, or song.    

Execution: 
Inspired by the iconic Eddie Aikau Big Wave Surfing Competition posters, concepts from Hokusai’s “Great Wave” and my passion for the ocean collide in this piece. I began by researching and sketching ideas, focusing on textures, colors, and forms to translate the writing into a visual image. The goal was to experiment with the process, like layering colors, and to consider edges and negative space while letting the medium guide me to create a cohesive set of prints.
